Got Resolutions?

by WestRehab on January 4, 2012

Have you made your “Top 10″ healthy resolutions list for 2012 yet?  No pressure huh?  Every magazine cover, newspaper story, television show, or advertisement seems to be about making & keeping New Year’s resolutions.

The synonyms for “resolution” are; resolve, determination, perseverance, tenacity; strength, & fortitude.

What a powerful group of words!

I remember hearing these words on repeat while listening to many pre-game or half-time speeches from various coaches throughout my basketball career.

These words can be used in family or career “motivational speeches” as well!

So are resolutions meant to motivate?  Absolutely!!

Thus the gym membership rush this time of year… and the fight to secure a treadmill for the month of January.

(my tip: go early or do your cardio outside or in the pool)

Everyone has GREAT intentions and is temporarily motivated.  However, life tends to get in the way of a healthy lifestyle.

Don’t let that happen to you!  However, we are not here to lie to you.  Being healthy and staying healthy is extremely hard work.

It takes determination, perseverance, tenacity; strength, & fortitude!

Throw in some time-management, and focus and you are on your way to a healthier lifestyle that will stick!

My point is to make good resolutions, one’s you know are achievable and that you can stick to long term.  Also, hire a great supporting staff!

A good tip I can give is to find someone to be accountable to.  I am emailing one of my best friend’s my resolutions and she is emailing me hers.  This will help keep us both accountable and periodically we have vowed to check with each other for progress reports.  *** Thank you Marci Bella!***

Any great athlete or successful person will tell you that there is always a supporting staff behind their success.

One great staff that I HIGHLY recommend is the West Rehab, Wellness Team.

What more could you want than the best personal trainer around, Neumann, and the best nutritional coach, me~Cat!

Call 912-353-WEST today to schedule a personal or group fitness class with Neumann or a Grocery Guru tour with me!

You have to have the right equation… exercise plus good nutrition to equal successful lifestyle change and resolutions that STICK!

What are some of your resolutions?  The best one will get a 30 minute Skype session with myself or Neumann.  Ready… set… go!

Finding balance

December 1, 2011

“I actually think being a more balanced person makes a healthier, happier, and thus faster person. It takes [...]

Holiday gift guide: Healthy books for kids

November 30, 2011

I love to give books as gifts for kids.  Plastic toys will get thrown away or broken (not to mention NOT environmentally friendly), video games will be outdated or conquered, and toys will be outgrown. Nothing lasts like a good book and it can be: handed down to a younger sibling, donated to a school [...]
